Background & Experience

Daniel A. Kaskel is Chair of the firm's Real Estate, Corporate, Land Use & Financial Services Group and an equity partner representing institutional investors, real estate sponsors, and family offices in complex, high-value real estate transactions nationwide.

His practice focuses on acquisitions, dispositions, development, and financing across multifamily, mixed-use and master-planned communities, office and retail portfolios, senior living facilities, manufactured housing communities, and substantial residential developments. He structures and negotiates joint ventures between institutional capital partners and operating sponsors and advises on the corporate frameworks underlying these investments.

Mr. Kaskel represents borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions, including construction, acquisition and development, bridge, and permanent loans, as well as mezzanine financing, frequently in transactions exceeding $100 million. He also advises on sale-leaseback transactions and broader capital structuring strategies.

He serves as outside general counsel to numerous family offices and real estate platforms, providing strategic guidance on investments, governance, and operations. His practice also includes significant residential closings and financings, and large-scale condominium and planned development structuring.

Mr. Kaskel is recognized in Super Lawyers for more than 15 years and was named a finalist for Best Real Estate Lawyer in Florida by ALM in 2026.

Significant Representations include: acquisition and agency financing of a large multifamily project in Palm Beach County, Florida; acquisition and financing of a significant office and retail portfolio in Boca Raton, Florida; multiple acquisitions and financings of senior living portfolios across Florida, Tennessee, and the Midwest; acquisition, disposition, and financing of manufactured housing communities throughout the Midwest; ongoing representation of family offices in acquisitions, financings, and refinancings of office and retail assets throughout Florida; acquisition and financing of properties on behalf of nonprofit organizations throughout Florida; development and financing of a 300+ unit residential community in Central Florida; financing and partial disposition of an office and retail portfolio in Palm Beach County, Florida; and representation of borrowers in large-scale financings, including transactions exceeding $100 million.
